The project is part of the graduation thesis at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Divergent futures of social media captures the future imaginations of Gen Z around the socialising technologies of today and explores these wider narratives not governed by the “Big Tech Platforms."
The Viral Vibes toolkit is aimed to to co-imagines future scenarios and stories around the hidden forces that the social media of today works on. These include algorithms, privacy, trends, surveillance, synthetic portrayals - which guide the social media access and usage.
The project aims to design tools to capture patterns in expressions around - concerns, desires and fears for the social media of tomorrow
